New Shop in Bacup To Complement Online Business – February 2013

Icing on the Cake is excited to announce the opening of a brand new shop on 9th March 2013, in Bacup.

Along with the new shop – which will sell some “off the shelf cakes” and be somewhere where customers can discuss their special cake requirements with us – Icing On The Cake are to re-brand!

The logo, stationery, website etc will have more of an “Art Deco” theme, which we love, so watch this space whilst the website catches up with the exciting changes!

We really feel that opening the cake shop on 9th March is fabulous timing, with Mothering Sunday being the next day. We hope local people will come along for the opening, bring Mum, buy a cup-cake!

This shop is a dream come true for us – as Christine says “On the 9th March the doors open to my dream Icing on the Cake Shop which will not only sell the delicious cakes I make but also equipment for the budding cake enthusiast like me. Over the last three years I have started to make more cakes by word of mouth and decided to have my own website in order to showcase my work; still thinking in the back of my mind about one day having my own shop – an ambition since I first made cakes for my nieces and nephews a long time ago! One day recently, we heard about a shop on the “Pioneer Buildings” block in Bacup, which was for rent. I had a look and found the landlord was in there decorating. From that moment I knew that this was the shop of my dreams – it certainly has the “wow factor” for me”.

The address of the new “Icing On The Cake” shop is:

2A Rochdale Road, Pioneer Buildings, Bacup, OL13 9NZ

It will be open 10am-6pm Tuesday to Friday; and 10am-5pm Saturday

There will be a purpose-built studio area where customers can chat to us about their requirements for wedding and other special celebratory cakes. Plus of course customers can pick up their ordered cakes directly from us.

Naturally we are still contactable at other times – customers can call, email, use social media or complete the form on our Contact page here on the website.

All of our usual services will continue, including delivery and set-up, so please have a look round the website at what we can offer you in terms of fabulous Wedding, Celebration and Novelty Cakes around Lancashire.

And why not join us from 10am at our new cake shop on 9th March – see you there!

British SugarCraft Guild – January 2013

Icing on the Cake is proud to announce its membership of the British SugarCraft Guild.

With a swan and its reflection as a logo a Newsletter for new members and its motto 'My Craft is my Art' the British Sugarcraft Guild was born.”

Wedding Fair, Rossendale – September 2012

On 23rd September we had the pleasure of exhibiting at the Wedding and Bridal Fair at St Mary's Chambers, Rossendale, as a proud local business offering our bespoke Wedding Cake services around Lancashire and beyond. It was a super day and we enjoyed seeing the designer catwalk show!

We met many people (brides and grooms-to-be) looking forward to their wedding day and busy making arrangements. We gave out lots of leaflets and business cards and needless to say, we hope we meet many of you again when you decide to order your wedding cake and toppers from us!

St Mary’s Chambers in Rossendale was a perfect venue for such a fair and we think a great venue for a wedding reception/breakfast or evening party too.

Website re-design – March 2012

We wanted to enhance the website to make it easier for our customers to find the products and services on offer. We’ve expanded the galleries page to cover all the various types of adult and children’s celebration cakes we bake – and we’ve added a “links” page too. If you have any suggestions for the website, we always like to hear from you!
