Icing on the Cake is a family based cake maker’s with over 30 years of experience in freshly made novelty, party and celebration cakes, made to order for all occasions, as well as Contemporary and Traditional Wedding Cakes for that special day.
We are based in Bacup, Lancashire and we make and deliver cakes for customers all over Lancashire and Greater Manchester.
Originally, I started out by making my children’s birthday party cakes and other fun cakes for their friends, usually with special requests for children’s character cakes!
Then down the years, whenever there was a family or friends’ special occasion, I was
always flattered to be asked to make the cake – Anniversary, Wedding,
Birthday Party, Christening Cake, you name the occasion and I made the cake for it. Often with a special
request for one of my “famous rich chocolate cakes” at any get together!
(I also make a scrumptious Tiramisu and other special, yummy deserts for dinner parties – one day
I just might expand and add these to our product list!)

Once I decided to turn my passion for cake making into a family-run business here in Lancs, a lot of our custom came from word of mouth and we had customers contacting us from local areas like Rochdale, Burnley and Rossendale. Nearly everyone who we have made a special occasion cake for has then gone on to recommend us to a friend or neighbour, which has helped our reputation for great celebration cakes reach further afield – other parts of Lancashire, West Yorkshire and Greater Manchester.
We like to specialise in making novelty cakes which are personalised and have something to say about the recipient – such as hobbies, mannerisms etc. Coming up with cake ideas and cake decorating designs is part of the fun and it’s so satisfying when our customers are thrilled with the final result.

Our cakes are made using free range, organic and free trade ingredients wherever possible and we can supply gluten and wheat free options, plus icing colours suitable for vegetarians.
